Steps
1. Planning and Design: Begin by planning the layout and design of the custom tile shower. Consider factors such as the shower size, tile type, pattern, and any special features like niches or benches. New plumbing is installed after demo but before the wallboard is installed.
2. Preparation: A new drain is installed along with a concrete “mud bed” which provides slope to the new drain. Schluter Kerdi Membrane is adhered to the “mud bed” and up the walls creating a waterproof, tile-able surface.
3. Tile Installation: Measurements are taken of both the walls and tiles to provide the best layout given the desired pattern and dimensions of the shower. Tiles are adhered directly to the waterproofing membrane using thin-set and spacers to meet the desired design/layout.
4. Grouting: Once the thinset is dry, spacers can be removed, and any other cleanup is done before grout is applied. A high-quality, latex-modified grout provides lasting protection and durability without the need for additional sealants. Silicone caulking is applied to all corners and requires at least 24 hours curing before the shower can be used.
5. Finishing Touches: After the grout has fully cured, installation of fixtures takes place; like showerheads, faucets, and glass enclosures, which completes the custom tile shower installation.

Justin has recently completed three projects for us. A bathroom, fireplace and patio flooring were all completed with such precision and perfection that we are beyond pleased. He is thorough in his workmanship and “ good enough” is not part of his business model. He is communicative throughout the process and is a delightfully skilled person to complete home projects in a timely manner.
Justin was great to work with as a homeowner general contracting their own addition. Justin worked with me through the design process and added his perspective on pros-cons of specific materials and design options. He communicated on progress and made time to stop by in between his larger jobs to discuss design and/or work on the next step. I have had many local tradesman say it is one of the best looking tile/grout jobs they have seen recently in the Grand Valley. Thank you Justin!
Justin crushed our custom shower project. Extremely skilled, professional and helpful throughout the project. He is someone you can trust to get it done fast, and correct. Would highly recommend
